Rachel Frey: Tell me one thing you have learned.
Lauren Halsey: Well off the top of my head I can think of something I have improved at –Taking the initiative to work, and not just waiting for someone to give me work. I find work that needs to be done.
RF: What has been your favorite experience so far?
LH: Getting to know the other interns here –there are so many interns with different personalities, but we all get along well. It helps to make the most of the experience.
RF: Do you have advice for anyone looking to intern with a sports organization?
LH: Be persistent. Things don’t always come easily. Also, be willing to do the hard work that others don’t want to do.
RF: Tell me your favorite sports memory.
LH: The night I fell in love with sports was the NBA season opener between the Mavericks and the Suns. It went into double overtime before the Mavericks finally won. I had to stay up late and I had school the next morning, but I loved it.
